KIPP Academy Lynn 8th Grade Diego Clark Wins Irish History Writing Contest

Lynn, MA- March 9, 2020- Diego Clark, an 8th grade student at KIPP Academy Lynn, won the Ladies Ancient Order of Hibernians Irish history writing contest for middle school students for the City of Lynn and the Commonwealth of Massachusetts. His essay will be entered to win the national competition. Essays were graded on comprehension, organization, creating, writing, and conclusion. The topic was “History of the Ladies Ancient Order of Hibernians in the USA (honoring the 125th anniversary.” The Ladies Ancient Order of Hibernians is a sisterhood of Irish and Irish-American Catholic women. The middle school-level essay contest required submissions between 500 and 1,000 words and proper citation of research. Diego chose to enter the contest because his brother had entered and won a few years ago in the high school division.
