(April 2022) This spring, we held an election period for our Family and KIPPsters Together (FAKT) offices. We are excited to announce our elected leaders! Congratulations to all!
Ashley Montgomery, Chair
My name is Ashley Montgomery. I have two children in 3rd grade here at KAB. I am currently involved in various co-authorship opportunities available at KAB, including FAKT, SEPAC, Safe and Healthy Schools Working Group, Race, Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Family Working Group, Executive Director Family Consigliere, and the KAB Racial Equity Team.
Karla Meza Mckennis, Chair
My name is Karla; I am the mother of two amazing children, 5th and 3rd graders. We have been at KIPP for three years. I am like a sponge and eager to learn and grow! I believe that it takes a village to raise children; I have been fortunate to find that in the FAKT team and my school community.
Deatrice Moore, Secretary
My name is Deatrice, and my son attends K2 at KAB. I am also a mom of a 17-year-old that attends another Boston Charter school. I am a healthcare administrative professional with 17 years of experience, obtained my Associate of Science from Bunker Hill Community College, and currently pursuing my Bachelors at Cambridge College.
Sareddi Tusen, Treasurer
My name is Sareddi Tusen. I am a mother of three girls. Joani (16 years) Aiyanna (10 years) and Addelys (6 years). We became part of the KIPP family about 6 years ago when my daughter Aiyanna started at KIPP as a kindergarten student. The following year, I became more involved with KIPP Boston when I was nominated to be a room parent for the First Graders. It was an amazing opportunity due to my past experience as a community organizer which gave me the knowledge and experience I needed to support the teachers and students. Also, my past experience as a Development Assistant for a neighborhood development office honed my interpersonal communication skills and strengthened my appreciation and understanding of our diversity community today. During my free time, I love to plan mini-vacation with the family because we love to travel.
Natasha Megie-Maddrey, Chair (KALC)
I am a mom of 5 children ages 15-26. I have lived in Lynn for over 20 years. I love KIPP and have been a member of the KIPP family for the last ten years.
Faith Morrison, Chair (KAL)
I am the mother of a 5th grader at KAL; I have played an active role as a parent leader on FAKT for the last six years. I am also the UCB Network Coordinator in Lynn. I genuinely value making genuine connections and have always sought to live a service life in my community.
Zara Emedosi, Chair (KALE)
Hello, everyone! My name is Zara Emedosi. I have lived with my family in Lynn for over 15 years. I love this city as it has so much to offer! My husband and I have two Kippsters, one in 1st grade and the other in 9th grade. I am relatively new to KIPP and still learning a lot about the school. I am sure many parents are in the same bucket as me. I am running for a co chair position for Kale elementary. As a co-chair, I would work towards programs to bring families together and share immense resources related to your child and the community that families can benefit from. I will provide parents with a platform to voice their concerns and offer suggestions about their child’s progress at school. Let’s come together and build a strong KIPP family!
Albenny Arcangel, Treasurer (KAL and KALE)
My name is Albenny Arcangel. I grew up in a small town called San Francisco de Macoris, Dominican Republic. I am a mother of two wonderful girls, Laura and Genevieve Arcangel. I enjoy spending time with them. We enjoy being out in nature or doing fun projects at home. In my free time… when my girls request time off from mommy… I enjoy doing designs for my home, friends, and families with my Circuit machine. I work as a Community Health Worker at North Shore Physicians Group. My job allows me to help people in my community with social and health needs; I cannot think of a better job as I enjoy every minute of it.
